First time at a kickboxing event: what to expect

You don’t need to be an expert to have a great night at an FTC fight night. Here is what matters for your first time.

How the evening runs

An FTC night strings together several fights, from less experienced fighters up to the main event. At FTC 14 in Laval, doors opened at 5 pm and fights started at 6 pm, with 16 fights on the card. Times change from one event to the next, so always check the event details on the Tickets page.

K-1 in brief

  • A standing fight: punches, kicks, knees and limited clinching.
  • 3 rounds of 2 to 3 minutes depending on the level, 5 rounds for title fights.
  • No ground fighting: fast and easy to follow.

Which ticket to choose

  • Regular: the simplest way to enjoy the night.
  • Front Seat: to be right next to the ring.
  • Tables: to come as a group.
  • Fight Mood: a package with the Shawarma Moods trio ($75 at FTC 14).

Tickets start at $60 in Laval, Montréal and Québec City. Categories and prices can vary by event.
