FTC was born from a dream. My name is Younes Chahti, and I founded Fight Time Championship in August 2022, at 22, while I was still studying law. Here is why.
Why did I create FTC?
I have always been passionate about combat sports and about fighters. I felt there was a real gap here. And deep down, I was sure I could promote combat sports like no one else.
Passion and know-how
I am also a marketing director. I was able to combine my passion and my know-how to create the most visible kickboxing league we have here in Canada.
The turning point
I told myself that if I never tried anything, I could never get close to my dream of becoming the greatest promoter of all time. So I decided to find the first step of the staircase, and start climbing.
How it all started
It all started in August 2022, in a small gym in Laval, turned into a stage for the very first event. The nights quickly sold out, and the audience kept growing and getting more passionate, in the venue and on social media.
The obstacles
I faced many obstacles. The first: being accepted in the scene. Many thought I was too young to be a promoter, and some did not trust me at first because of my age. There were financial obstacles too: I come from a humble background. It did not stop me from launching FTC.
Where is FTC today?
FTC has held 14 events and welcomed more than 10,000 spectators in the venue, in Montréal, Laval, Cornwall and Québec City. On October 3, 2025, FTC 10 took over the Théâtre Saint-Denis, in the heart of Montréal. Our events are sanctioned by the WKFQ, our partner federation since the beginning. To learn more, see the About page and our events.
What comes next
My ambition: to build the biggest kickboxing league in Canada, and to bring kickboxing to the point where it is as popular as the giants of this world. If you want to experience a fight night, discover our events. A fighter or a coach? See Become an FTC fighter. And if you do not know K-1 yet, start with What is K-1 kickboxing?
